PYP ARISVersity Module-2

ARISVersity is an ARIS Initiative that carries forth the value of Lifelong Learning. ARIS Versity, since the previous academic year, has been running for parents to understand about the IB Curriculum, and really understand their wards’ education journey through their academic and non-academic, holistic progression as Global Citizens.

Last Academic Year, we graduated our first batch of PYP ARISVersity Parents! This Academic Year, ARISVersity is running across the Primary and the Secondary Campuses.

Today, we caught a glimpse of Module-2 of the ARISVersity Sessions at the Primary School. Module-2 is on IB Learner Profiles which are universal traits and goals of IB Students to develop as Global Citizens, through their IB Journey. There are 10 IB Learner Profiles, all equally important that contribute a great deal into who we want our IB Generation of Students to be.

The most interesting part of the Module-2 ARISVersity Session at Primary School today was that an ARISVersity Graduate from last year was conducting it! Really tells much about the in-depth internalization, introspection and understanding of the IB, through 6 week modules. This module was also guided by our experienced PYP Facilitator, Ms. Eugenia.

One of our parents, and ARISVersity Graduates, Mrs. Hamoui upon explaining the IB Learner Profiles and each of their contributions and traits, gave the ARISVersity Students different tasks. Some tasks were to mirror each other, as they worked in pairs. Other activities were role plays. There was one task in particular, which was for the students to identify in themselves, the IB Profile(s) that they most reflect in their personalities and their day to day behavior and mannerisms, and the IB Profile(s) that they wish to improve on!

It really was a great exercise to reflect on themselves to deepen their understanding of the gravity and the importance of the Learner Profiles. It does not just have to apply to their children as IB Students, but also themselves as IB Parents!

Before we expect our students to model the IB Learner Profiles, lets model and apply it to ourselves as well!
