Collaborative Learning With PYP Year 6

Mar 30, 2021

While it is great to be an independent thinker and learner, it is equally as important to be a collaborator and a team player. As an IB School, we encourage our eagles to develop skill sets that will take them through the 21st Century world and being a collaborator is one of the skills to be developed, and this is achieved through collaborative learning during their inquiry.

For their numeracy integration and inquiry, PYP Year 6 worked collaboratively in pairs to complete various tasks!

Collaborative learning is important in student learning experiences as it motivates them to be active participants in their own learning. The learning journey really becomes student-owned, as they work together in whatever way that will cause them to achieve results. Collaborative learning is engaging and using concepts and contexts, students achieve deeper learning.

In addition, students develop skills such as communication skills, leadership skills, critical thinking skills and self-management skills, when they learn collaboratively. And all these qualities and skills are essential in today's world, as it gives our eagles the push to Inspire, Empower and Transform for a better world!
