ARIS Wellbeing Webinar: Substance Misuse Among Teens

As part of our aim as an institution to connect with parents, the ARIS Wellbeing Department organized the first parent webinar of the year focusing on the topic: "The pandemic no one is talking about: Substance Misuse among teens".

The meeting, facilitated by the Head of The ARIS Wellbeing Department, and clinical psychologist, Dr. Funke, was attended by about 25 ARIS Secondary Parents. To start off, a poll was sent out and answered, relating to substance misuse, and was followed immediately by a quick, yet thorough presentation on substance abuse, trends that young people follow nowadays, how parents can be supportive and helpful in our fight against this new pandemic, and finally what our school policy says about substance abuse.

Denying the fact that this is now becoming a big issue in most schools in Ghana would be remiss of us, and as such it is our responsibility as a school to reflect on and take action against this new wave of Substance abuse, inspiring, empowering and transforming our world and the world at large!
