ARIS Participates in 1st ISAAG

This weekend, ARIS Students were able to overcome their fears by participating at the Competition at the El-walk stadium on the 28th of April. On this note, I congratulate the ARIS Athletics Team for their great effort and zeal during the Competition.

ARIS training at El-walk stadium on the 18th April 2018, has really impacted our students. Initially, our students didn't want to compete. Thanks to Doctor Fatma and Madame Alpana for their encouraging words to the Athletics Team, students also started encouraging each other after the training session at El-walk and continued the rest of the training at ARIS.

The participating schools at the El-Walk Stadium this weekend were Al-Rayan International school, Ghana Christian International High School, Akosombo International school, Ghana International School, Tema International School, Roman Ridge International School, SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International School, Association International School, Morgan International School, Faith Montessori International school and more.

The track events set up in the male and female categories were - 100m, 200m, and 400m for short sprints events, 800m and 500m as middle distance track events, and 4x400m and 4x100m as the last event for the competition, as the baton relay for the day. Field events also included Shot put, Javelin, Discus, High jump and Long jump.

100 m Run (Girls):

100 m Run (Boys):

Husni Anas – 4th Position

Asorwoe Keli – 4th Position

200 m Heat Race (Girls):

Aya El-Osta – 4th Position

400 m Run (Girls):

Sara Hamoui – 4th Position

Sarah Baroudi – 4th Position

400 m Run (Boys):

Kahoil Ouail – 4th Position

Husni Anas – 4th Position

800 m Run (Girls):

Opoku Doris – 6th Position

Alfa Yasmin – 6th Position

800 m Run (Boys):

Stephen Adams – 5th Position

Nefa Acolatse – 6th Position

 

Field events such as Shot put, Javelin and Discus were led by Benjamin Jonathan, Sagar Pritmani, and Fadel Majzoub.

Shot Put:

Jonathan Benjamin – 7th Position

Javelin Throw:

Jonathan Benjamin – 7th Position

Fadel Majzoub – 8th Position.

 

The final event, which was the most exciting event among all, was the 4x100m race participated by four students from each school for both boys and girls.

They took the 4th position out of eight schools who participated in their zone.


Finally, the whole competition came to an end exactly 5:00 pm. We are so proud of their participation and risk-taker attitudes, and cannot wait to see more from the ARIS Athletics Team!
