International Literacy Day Poetry Competition

Congratulations to the winners of the 2014/2015 International Literacy Day Poetry Competition. “Knowledge” by Leila Zaabalawi & “Knowledge Is Key” by Jamal Bally year six. “Who’s Smart?” by Sara Minai & “Knowledgeable” by Najwa Odaymat Year five. “Sunday’s” by May Al-Hassan, and “The Book Trip” by Jennah Toutoungi year four.

The winning pupils came forward during the assembly to read their poems. The audience was captivated. ARIS thanks Madame Fiona Leonard, our guest author for making a difference in the lives of ARIS pupils. Madame Fiona shared her love of literacy by volunteering in years three, four, and six during the International Literacy Day Event. Madame Fiona read her favorite poems to the classes and shared some spoken word poetry.
